Check before it gets worse
Most door seals fail slowly, so the warning signs are easy to miss. If you notice any of these, have the gasket checked before it causes more damage or higher energy use.
For refrigerators, the dollar bill test is a quick check you can do at home: if the bill slides out easily with the door closed, the seal is not gripping.
